Chapter 167: Checking Up On Their Rooms

I separated from Olivia who had gone off to do her own stuff while I went ahead to take a look around the residential floor that the Guardians were staying on.

I’ve been here to take a look before since I wanted to check if their living conditions were sufficient enough as well.

It would not do for me to live in a really luxurious penthouse and for my Guardians to live in a single room with barely any amenities after all.

To be honest... I was half hoping that they might actually be living in such rooms so that I can make the excuse to open up the penthouse for everyone to live in instead of just myself.

But well... I went to look at their rooms before this and while they weren’t living in the same penthouse space as I was, their rooms were basically apartments by themselves.

Each of their rooms had its own bedroom, its own sitting room, its own bathroom and even its own study room.

That was pretty good if you asked me. Though this was coming from someone who only had a single room to himself in his parent’s house while needing to share a bathroom with his sister... So anything was basically an upgrade anyway.

Putting that aside, it seems like my Guardians were all in their rooms right now since it was close to bed time so I decided to go check up on each of them.

I decided to start with the room that was beside Olivia’s first which happened to be Ava’s room.

I was just about to press the bell button when the door slid open, revealing an elf wearing only a white, see through negligee with matching stockings and nothing else underneath.

"Ara, ara~ Are you here for a night visit, my Divine? How rare~" She giggled, lifting the hem of her nightgown to show off a scandalous amount of thigh.

I cleared my throat, "I’m afraid I’m not here for that... I thought that I might check on you guys to see how you have all settled in."

"Ufufufu~ I’m settling in just fine, my Divine~" She giggled, her hand reaching down to cup my crotch. "In fact... Shall we settle down somewhere else as well?"

I shuddered and gently pried her hand away from me, "Maybe later... I want to check on the others first."

"Fufufu~ Saving the best for last, my Divine? I can wait~ Don’t make me wait too long though~ Fufufufu~"

Without warning, she bent down and kissed me on the lips, her tongue darting in for a second before pulling back.

She made the action of licking her lips before blowing me a kiss and waving me off.

I went over to the next room and buzzed it, only needing to wait a moment before the door slid open to reveal Jia Lian behind it, the swordswoman dressed in a set of cute pink, fluffy pajamas.

Judging by how her hair was also currently wrapped up in a towel, it seems like I caught her just as she had finished her bath.

"A... Ah? Mo... Mortal God? Umm... Can I... I mean... Do you need something from me? Ah! Please come in!"

I waved at her, "You don’t need to worry so much, Jia Lian. I’m just going around checking you guys to make sure you’re all settling in well. Do you need anything? Maybe something that needs changing? Something making you uncomfortable?"

"Eh? There’s no way I would feel uncomfortable here, Mortal God! The living conditions of this place are already way better than what I have back at home! There’s nothing for me to complain about!"

I couldn’t help but grin at her, "You too huh. I’m guessing you think the room is too big for you?"

"Y... Yes... I mean... It’s not like I don’t appreciate it but... Even the bedroom here is bigger than my entire room that I use as both my bedroom and study room back at home... I don’t think I can ever get used to this. Is it the same for you, Mortal God?"

I chuckled, "Hahaha... Yeah... I never really thought that I would be given a room that was bigger than my parents’ house..."

She smiled wryly at me, "I guess we don’t have a choice but to get used to it anyway?"

"It does seem like it. Anyway, if you need anything, just let me or Olivia know."

She bowed, "Of course, Mortal God."

I waved at her and wished her good night before moving to the next room, pressing on the buzzer at the side of the door.

This time, I needed to wait for a while before I heard the sound of footsteps approaching the door.

It slid open to reveal Leena, though she was in her human form with her equine half nowhere to be found.

Just like the others, she was also preparing herself for bed and her pajamas seemed to be just a single skirt wrapped around her waist and... That’s about it.

I gave her a wry smile, "What are you talking about? You are not just a simple soldier... You are one of my Guardians, are you not?"

She paused before a smile materialised on her lips, "Of course, my Lord. And I will serve and protect you with my life."

I then decided that I could not ignore it anymore and gestured at her chest, "Ahem... Anyway... I think you should cover that up now..."

She looked down and I thought she would scream again to cover her chest but she just looked back at me quizzically, "What’s wrong, Mortal God?"

"Umm... I mean... Your boobs are out... Shouldn’t... You know? Like... Cover it up or something?"

"Eh? Why would I want to cover up my chest? I am preparing to sleep soon, Mortal God."

I sucked in a breath, "Is it normal for your people to show off your chest while you are sleeping?"

"Ah... Umm... I suppose it varies from person to person... But in my case... I guess I’m hoping for something to happen so I’m showing it off?"

Hoping for something to happen? Well... I guess I shouldn’t disturb her then...

"In that case, I won’t disturb you. Just let me know if there is anything you need to make your stay more comfortable."

Hmm? She looked really depressed when I told her that for some reason but she didn’t stop me when I turned to leave either so I thought maybe she’s thinking about something else.

I went over to the other side of the hallway and I skipped over one of the rooms which I knew was Sergei’s room because the occupant was... Well... Doing his usual nightly stuff back on the mainland...

He’s really dedicated to his side job, apparently.

I went over to the last room and was just about to press the buzzer when I noticed that the door had not closed fully, leaving a gap between the doorframe and the door itself.

Hmm? Is something wrong with the door? Is Kris out or something?

I touched the door and, unexpectedly, the door slid open without a sound.

That was when I heard something that was akin to a pained groan coming from inside the room and I felt alarmed that Kris might be in trouble.

I rushed inside the room, thinking that he might have hurt himself or something but I was met with a rather confusing sight.

The person I found standing inside the room was posing in front of a mirror, with their cat tail waving mischievously in the air.

The only thing was that this cat person was wearing a rather cute dress and was even wearing heels while posing in front of the mirror.
