Chapter 231: Just set a trap.
Chapter 231: Just set a trap.
Jiang Mo closed his eyes and pondered for a moment: "Since they have mastered the Nightmare Gu, there must be a Gu Master involved."
"And the number of Gu Masters capable of raising Nightmare Gu is extremely limited in the country."
He turned to Liao Zhong: "Help me check which well-known Gu masters have been acting strangely lately."
"Especially those from the Miao region."
Liao Zhong nodded: "I'll take care of it right away."
Just then, a slight buzzing sound suddenly came from the corner of the room.
Jiang Mo instantly became alert, his gaze sweeping towards the source of the sound like lightning.
"Watch out!" he shouted in a low voice, and at the same time, he struck out with his palm, sending a burst of energy straight towards the corner.
With a soft "snap," a small listening device in the corner was instantly shattered.
"We're being watched!" Wei Duoduo exclaimed.
Jiang Mo's face darkened: "It seems these people are even bolder than we imagined."
"They actually dared to install listening devices in the company's secret bunker."
Liao Zhong immediately took out his walkie-talkie and arranged for men to thoroughly search the entire bunker.
Soon after, reports came in one after another, revealing that seven similar listening devices had been found, distributed in various key locations within the bunker.
"It seems the other side came prepared."
Jiang Mo narrowed his eyes. "Not only do they know the structure of the bunker inside and out, but they also planted these devices in advance."
"So what do we do now?" Zhang Chulan asked. "We can't just sit here and wait to die, can we?"
Jiang Mo pondered for a moment, then suddenly smiled slightly: "Since they're so eager to know our actions, why not let them know?"
"Does the God of Gu mean..." Wei Duoduo's eyes lit up.
“Set a trap,” Jiang Mo sneered. “Since they’re so interested in the inheritance of the Gu God, I’ll give them a chance.”
The night was as dark as ink, the moonlight was obscured by clouds, and the entire bunker was shrouded in gloom.
After discovering the listening device, Jiang Mo began his plan.
He deliberately discussed the matter with Zhao Fangxu and Liao Zhong in the room.
He claimed to have discovered clues to the remains of the Gu God and planned to go there to investigate in person tomorrow night.
Of course, all of this was fake; the purpose was simply to lure the snake out of its hole.
"Are you all ready?" Jiang Mo asked in a low voice, standing on the highest point of the fortress and looking down at the courtyard below.
"We've been prepared for a long time, Lord Gu God!" Wei Duoduo replied excitedly, "We're just waiting for them to take the bait."
Zhang Chulan stretched his limbs: "Don't worry, big brother, we'll definitely catch those audacious bastards this time."
Chen Duo and Feng Baobao hid on the other side, responsible for monitoring the side door of the bunker to prevent anyone from sneaking in from there.
"Remember, once you spot a suspicious person, do not act immediately."
Jiang Mo instructed, "I need to find out exactly how many of them there are, and whether they have any other accomplices."
Everyone nodded in agreement, then disappeared into their respective ambush points, waiting for their prey to come to them.
The company deployed more than thirty elite agents around the bunker.
Each person was equipped with specialized night vision equipment and communication devices, forming an impenetrable surveillance network.
Time ticked by, and it was past midnight, yet nothing unusual had happened.
"Could they have discovered our trap?" Zhang Chulan asked in a low voice through his earpiece.
“Be patient,” Jiang Mo replied calmly. “A true hunter chooses the most opportune moment to strike.”
Sure enough, it happened around 2:30 a.m.
Several surveillance points around the bunker suddenly lost signal at the same time.
"They're here," a cold glint flashed in Jiang Mo's eyes. "Everyone, pay attention, the target is starting to move."
Almost simultaneously, several dark figures, like ghosts, passed through the outer defenses of the bunker and quickly approached the main building.
Their movements are so fast that they are almost impossible to catch.
If Jiang Mo hadn't been prepared, they probably would have easily infiltrated the area.
“Four people,” Jiang Mo accurately detected the number of intruders using his special senses.
"They entered simultaneously from the four directions—east, west, south, and north—with remarkably seamless coordination."
“I’ll go to the east,” Wei Duoduo said immediately.
“I’ll go to the south,” Zhang Chulan responded quickly.
"Chen Duo and Feng Baobao, you two are in charge of the north side."
Jiang Mo instructed, "Leave the west side to me."
"Remember, don't act rashly; observe their actions first."
After assigning tasks, the group immediately dispersed and silently tracked their respective targets.
Jiang Mo disappeared into the shadows, his gaze fixed on the dark figure that had crept in from the west.
The man was tall and slender, with elegant yet powerful movements, clearly a highly skilled individual who had undergone professional training.
“Interesting,” Jiang Mo narrowed his eyes slightly, “this movement technique does bear some resemblance to the Helian family.”
The dark figure, like a ghost, nimbly passed through several lines of defense and arrived in front of the main building.
At that moment, the shadowy figures from the other three directions also arrived almost simultaneously.
It was clearly a carefully calculated operation.
Jiang Mo whispered through the earpiece, "Don't move. Let's see what they do next."
Four dark figures briefly met in front of the main building, seemingly exchanging some information, before entering the main building through different entrances.
The person Jiang Mo was keeping an eye on headed straight towards his residence.
"As expected, they came for my things," Jiang Mo sneered, and silently followed them.
The man was extremely vigilant, turning his head every three steps and listening intently every five, worried that someone was following him.
But Jiang Mo's ability to conceal himself was already unparalleled.
Even such a vigilant expert was completely unaware of his presence.
Upon arriving at Jiang Mo's residence, the man took out a small bottle from his pocket and carefully blew a breath through the crack in the door.
A barely perceptible wisp of powder drifted into the room.
A moment later, he gently pushed open the door and slipped inside.
Jiang Mo chuckled coldly: "Still Nightmare Gu powder. It seems you really like this kind of thing."
He didn't follow up immediately, but instead used his special senses to observe the situation inside the room.
After entering, the person went straight to the hidden compartment where the "Gu Scripture" was placed and skillfully opened the mechanism.
"This level of familiarity makes it seem like you come here often."
Jiang Mo narrowed his eyes, pondering the other person's identity.
Just then, Wei Duoduo's urgent voice came through the earphones.
"Lord Gu God, the people in the east have obtained the goods and seem to be planning to retreat!"
"Me too," Zhang Chulan reported.
"That guy stole something from Boss Zhao's office and is walking back."
“The ones to the north have also made their move,” Chen Duo’s voice rang out. “They seem to know exactly what their objective is.”
Jiang Mo said in a deep voice, "Everyone prepare. Once they assemble and retreat, move out immediately."
Inside the room, the dark figure had already taken out a wooden box from a hidden compartment.
The wooden box was supposed to contain a copy of the "Gu Scripture," a "gift" specially prepared by Jiang Mo.
Upon seeing the wooden box, the man seemed relieved, quickly put it into his pocket, and turned to leave.
