Chapter 14 First Meeting of Father and Son
Chapter 14 First Meeting of Father and Son
Landric followed Narcissa and Lucius into Malfoy Manor.
As they walked, Narcissa inquired about Landric's recent physical and emotional state, just like a mother caring for her child.
Lucius watched them with a smile.
This scene evokes only a sense of warmth.
Landric and the two patriarchs entered the manor, but did not see Draco.
Before Landric could even begin to wonder, Narcissa began to explain to him.
Narcissa: "Honey, don't worry, Xiaolong is in class right now. He didn't know you were going to give him such a big surprise before class, so he doesn't know you're here yet~"
Landric: "Class?"
Narcissa: "Oh yes, darling, Draco's godfather is giving Draco a Potions lesson."
Lucius: "Yes, that's right, but I'd like to ask our little king to wait a bit for the little dragon, okay? If Your Majesty is bored, Sissi and I can show you around the manor. It's your first time at Malfoy Manor, so you're not familiar with the place yet. There are many places here that I think you'll like."
The "little king" naturally refers to Landric, since the name Landric itself implies king and ruler.
It's no wonder that Draco always says Lucius is biased. Compared to Draco, Lucius is anything but gentle with Landric, as if Landric were a fragile object that would break at the slightest carelessness.
Narcissa approves of Lucius's attitude toward Landric; clearly, in their hearts, Landric is also someone they want to protect.
As for Draco, needless to say, as long as Landric is within his sight, Draco cannot see anyone.
Sometimes Narcissa couldn't help but sigh, "They really are father and son!"
Narcissa and Lucius accompanied Landric on a leisurely stroll through the estate, introducing him to the various landscapes, buildings, and recreational areas along the way.
They stopped when they reached a large open area where Draco usually played with his flying broom.
Narcissa: "Honey, you like Quidditch. This is where Draco practices with his broom, which he especially loves."
Landric's eyes lit up when he heard about brooms, especially flying brooms.
The couple standing nearby immediately understood.
Lucius: "Does little Rand like flying broomsticks? If so, you can come to Malfoy Manor often and Draco will show you around."
Lucius is putting in a lot of effort to get Landric out more often.
Landric: "Is it okay? Will there be any danger?"
To be honest, Landric had never seen a flying broom before. It was only because Tana Rozier was so protective of him, afraid that Landric would hurt himself while playing with the broom, that she never told him about it.
Narcissa: "No, baby, you'll be safe with Draco with you."
Landric immediately agreed.
Lucius, who was standing nearby, calculated the time and realized it was about time for Draco's Potions class to end, so he led Narcissa and Landric back to the main hall.
Draco finished his Potions class and came out of the little Potions room his parents had prepared for him. The first thing he saw was Landric.
The expression on his face instantly changed from miserable to bright and sunny, like spring had arrived.
Severus Snape, with a gloomy face, followed Draco out.
Narcissa smiled gently as she watched the scene unfold.
Severus glanced at Narcissa, but stopped abruptly when he saw Landric.
He himself couldn't explain why, but when he saw Landric, he felt an indescribable emotion lingering in his heart.
Landric also saw Severus. He knew Severus was his biological father; he'd heard Tana Rozier mention him when he was little, though she thought he wouldn't remember. But what could he do when Landric's body housed the soul of an adult?
Landric glanced at Severus, nodded slightly in greeting, but his aloof demeanor revealed his indifference towards Severus.
When Severus saw that look, he felt a sudden pang of pain in his heart, and then his eyes immediately became empty.
Others might not know, but how could Severus's longtime friend Lucius not know? His keen intuition told him that it was not simple, but since it involved his beloved godson and friend, Lucius did not say much, but simply planted a seed of doubt in his heart.
