Chapter 256 Gruul
Chapter 256 Gruul
Gruul let out a deep, thunderous groan, his massive decapitation blade slamming heavily into the ground, creating a shallow crater. His voice boomed like a bell.
"That scheming phantom bitch Superses and that powerful fool Morgus! They're utterly useless! To think they let you two rats sneak all the way to the gates of Darkevil! You've completely disgraced Lord Kael'thas!"
Sasauvar added coldly, in his echoing voice:
"Ignorant intruders, your journey ends here. Dark Eclipse City will be your burial ground."
Mal'Ganis remained silent, but the illusory spirit emanated an even colder aura, and an invisible curse began to spread outwards like a spider web.
Lin Tian slowly stood up from behind the boulder, with Celia following closely behind, her eyes coldly scanning the four newly appeared powerful enemies.
The situation suddenly became serious.
Before even meeting the main figure, Kael'thas, the enemy had already dispatched four generals, along with an army of monsters stretching as far as the eye could see.
There is no doubt that they have been completely exposed and are surrounded.
Previous undercover observations seemed utterly inadequate in the face of such overwhelming numbers and power.
Lin Tian's face remained expressionless, but deep within his eyes, beneath a calmness as profound as the starry sky, a fighting spirit began to ignite like a spark.
He gently grasped the Star Devouring Staff in his hand.
The decisive battle seems to be starting ahead of schedule.
......
The enormous shadow cast by the Dark City seemed to have a viscous texture, pressing heavily on this scorched land.
The chilling killing intent emanating from the four Abyss Generals intertwined with the raging aura of the boundless tide of demons behind them, forming a suffocating, invisible giant net.
Gruul's mocking words, like muffled thunder, still echoed in the air, and his eyes, burning with brutal flames, were already fixed on Lin Tian.
For an abyssal creature like him who purely believed in power, the successive defeats of Subses and Morgus were not only a disgrace, but also made him feel that the seemingly weak human in front of him was nothing more than relying on some tricks.
True power should be like a mountain collapsing and a tsunami, unstoppable!
"Human! Your head will become yet another trophy I offer to Lord Kael'thas!" Gruul roared, slamming his massive foot into the ground!
"boom!"
The ground shook violently, and spiderweb-like cracks spread out from the point where he landed.
The monstrous decapitation blade in his hand, the size of a door panel—the Rockbreaker—carried a fierce wind that seemed to tear everything apart. Without any fancy techniques, it cleaved down towards Lin Tian's head with pure, brute force!
Before the blade even arrived, the terrifying wind pressure had already crushed all the rubble beneath Lin Tian's feet into dust, as if it were about to cleave him and the surrounding space apart!
Faced with this earth-shattering attack, Lin Tian's eyes narrowed slightly. He could feel the pure physical power contained in this strike, which was even more ferocious than Morgus's previous attack. Taking it head-on would be unwise.
[Star Leap]!
As the starlight flickered, Lin Tian's figure vanished from his spot like a ghost, appearing precisely a few meters to Gruul's left.
"BOOM!!!"
The Rock Breaker slammed down on the spot where Lin Tian had been standing. The earth let out a painful groan, and a terrifying ravine, several meters long and bottomless, appeared instantly. The flying rocks scattered like cannonballs, and dust rose into the sky.
"Hide? Let's see how long you can hide!"
Gruul missed his attack, but instead of being angry, he laughed. His huge body displayed an agility that was inconsistent with his size. He twisted his waist and turned around, and the decapitation blade changed from a slash to a sweep with a mournful whistle. Like a black arc of death, it cut into Lin Tian, who had just appeared!
Lin Tian moved again, his [Blink] skill perfectly executed, narrowly avoiding the sweeping attack.
The gust of wind generated by the blade made his robes flutter loudly.
He did not immediately launch a strong counterattack, but relied on his superb agility and precise movement, like a petrel darting through a storm, seemingly navigating Gruul's fierce offensive with a perilous maneuver.
Arcane Missiles occasionally shot from his fingertips, accurately striking the joints of Gruul's armor or the few areas not covered by bone armor, making crisp "clanging" sounds and leaving some shallow burn marks, but obviously unable to cause effective damage.
The flames from the [Fire Rain] spell burned Gruul's thick bone armor, but the effect was negligible, as if it were just tickling him.
As Gruul fought, he grew increasingly frenzied, roaring repeatedly and unleashing a more ferocious blade strike that left the surrounding ground in ruins, yet he was still unable to truly touch Lin Tian's agile figure.
This scene was interpreted differently by the other three generals watching from the rear.
"Tsk, Gruul, that idiot, all he knows is to act recklessly."
Shahras licked her red lips, a hint of impatience flashing in her eyes.
"This handsome young man is as slippery as an eel. It seems I'll have to step in and let him taste what real pain and pleasure are like..." The poisoned blades in her hands were already subtly glowing, and she crouched slightly, like a cheetah preparing to pounce.
Sasowal's brow furrowed slightly beneath his hood, and the soul fire flickered faintly in the eye sockets of the skull at the tip of his staff.
"Something's not right... This human mage's mana fluctuations are strange. Using teleportation skills so frequently must be incredibly taxing, yet his aura... hardly weakens. Gruul probably won't be able to defeat him anytime soon. We can't waste time here; Lord Kael'thas is still waiting..."
Even the usually silent spirit general Mal'Ganis, surrounded by vengeful spirits, began to hiss restlessly, and an invisible curse field began to spread towards the center of the battlefield, attempting to interfere with Lin Tian's actions.
Sahras was the first to lose her composure. With a flick of her body, she transformed into a blurry afterimage, silently slicing towards the edge of the battle as if blending into the shadows, preparing to find an opportunity to launch a fatal sneak attack.
"Get out of here!"
However, just as Shahras was about to enter the optimal attack position, Gruul, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, suddenly turned around and let out a furious roar. He even temporarily slowed down his attack on Lin Tian. With a warning, [Rockbreaker] swept across the path in front of Shahras's approach, forcing her back.
"He is my prey!"
Gruul's eyes were bloodshot as he stared intently at the pale-faced Shahras, then swept his gaze over the restless Sasolvar and Malganis. His voice was filled with an undeniable arrogance.
"No one can interfere! I'll personally smash every single bone in his body and show you what true power is! Anyone who dares to step forward again, don't blame my Rockbreaker for being ruthless!"
