Chapter 119: Worship at the Villa

Chapter 119: Worship at the Villa

For Chen Shuishui, this was undoubtedly a crushing blow. She couldn't accept Duan Xiang's sudden departure, leaving her heart filled with endless pain and despair. She began to wonder if she had done something wrong, and why Duan Xiang was so determined. She searched for answers, but could find no reasonable explanation.

Duan Xiang's only remaining family member is his grandmother. Ever since Duan Xiang disappeared, his grandmother has been distraught, running around everywhere to find out where her grandson is, but there has been no news. Every day, the elderly woman is immersed in deep worry and pain, unsure of what else she can do to find her grandson.

Meanwhile, Chen Shuishui, overwhelmed by the loss of her lover, became depressed. She grimaced, losing her passion for life. Once cheerful and optimistic, she gradually fell into a spiral of depression, unable to extricate herself. She often wept silently, recalling every moment she had spent with Duan Xiang.

As time went on, Chen Shuishui's condition worsened, and she was eventually diagnosed with severe depression. She locked herself in her home, refusing to go out or interact with anyone. Su Zhiqiu was deeply concerned about her condition and stayed by her side, but she remained silent, as if she had lost her soul.

Seeing Chen Shuishui's increasing weight loss and declining mental state, Su Zhiqiu decided to take her to see a doctor. After a detailed examination and evaluation, the doctor recommended hospitalization for better care, professional psychological counseling, and medication to help her recover. Although Chen Shuishui was initially reluctant to accept this advice, Su Zhiqiu persuaded her to enter the hospital.

After a long period of time and arduous psychological treatment, Chen Shuishui finally emerged from the deep shadow of her heart. Although she still occasionally thought of Duan Xiang, she was no longer trapped in the same inextricable pain as before. She knew that life must continue to move forward and that she could not give up the pursuit of future happiness because of the trauma of the past.

Today, Chen Shuishui has learned to accept her past and sees it as part of her growth. She understands that setbacks and hurts in life are inevitable, but the key is how to face them and draw strength from them. Through this experience, she has become stronger, more mature, and more resilient.

Whenever she recalls her relationship with Duan Xiang, Chen Shuishui feels a hint of sadness, but at the same time she smiles and tells herself: "This is life." She believes that every experience will become a precious asset in life, allowing us to better appreciate everything we have now.

Chen Shuishui is now striving to rediscover her own happiness and joy. She devotes herself to her work and hobbies, actively participates in social activities, and makes new friends. She has discovered that the world is still full of beauty and hope, and as long as she has kindness in her heart, she will surely find her own warm sunshine.

But fate likes to play tricks on people. When Chen Shuishui had almost recovered, she met Duan Xiang again.

Chen Shuishui looked at Duan Xiang in surprise, with mixed feelings in her heart. Duan Xiang looked much more haggard, and there was a hint of guilt in his eyes.

"Shui Shui, I..." Duan Xiang hesitated to speak.

Chen Shuishui took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. "Why are you here?"

Duan Xiang lowered his head and rubbed his fingers, whispering: "Grandma is sick, I came back to take care of her. I heard that you were sick before, so I came to see you."

Tears welled up in Chen Shuishui's eyes. She turned her head away, not wanting Duan Xiang to see her vulnerability. "I'm fine now, don't worry."

After a moment of silence, Duan Xiang mustered up the courage to raise his head, "Shui Shui, I'm sorry. It was my fault for leaving without saying goodbye. I was too impulsive at the time. Actually, I have always loved you."

Chen Shuishui's heart was shocked. She stared at Duan Xiang with wide eyes, "What did you say?"

"I know I hurt your heart, but I hope you can give me a chance to make up for my mistake." Duan Xiang said sincerely.

Chen Shuishui bit her lip, her heart in a turmoil. She didn't know whether she should believe Duan Xiang's words, after all, he had left so decisively.

At this moment, Duan Xiang gently held Chen Shuishui's hand and said, "I will prove my sincerity with my actions. Please believe me."

Chen Shuishui felt the warmth of Duan Xiang's palm, and the iceberg in her heart seemed to melt little by little. She looked into Duan Xiang's eyes, hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded, "Okay, I'm willing to give you a chance."

A delighted smile appeared on Duan Xiang's face. He shook Chen Shuishui's hand tightly and said, "Thank you, Shuishui. I will never let you down again."

Since then, Duan Xiang and Chen Shuishui have been together again. They care for Duan Xiang's grandmother together, sharing each other's joys and sorrows. Despite the hurt they once had, they both chose to repair their relationship with tolerance and trust. As the days passed, their feelings grew deeper and deeper.

That day Duan Xiang proposed to Chen Shuishui, like the story of a prince and princess.

Chen Shuishui nodded with tears in her eyes.

Chen Shuishui thought this was the fairytale ending: the two were finally getting married. She and her boyfriend had been together for many years, their relationship stable and sweet. They had experienced many wonderful times and faced life's challenges together. Now, they were about to enter the marriage hall and begin a new stage in their lives.

Chen Shuishui looked at herself in the mirror, imagining herself in her wedding dress, her heart filled with anticipation and joy. She closed her eyes and imagined herself holding flowers, slowly walking towards her beloved, her face filled with a happy smile.

Chen Shuishui knows that marriage isn't always smooth sailing, but she believes that as long as two people understand and support each other, they can overcome all difficulties together. She hopes to be a good wife and walk hand in hand with her husband through every season, forever.

Chen Shuishui felt that getting married was a crucial moment in her life, and she wanted to tell her father, whom she had never met. Even though he was no longer alive, she still wanted to share the news. So, one day, Chen Shuishui arrived at the castle villa, once her father's home, a home she had never lived in.

Chen Shuishui stood quietly before her father's collection of famous paintings, silently pouring out her deepest feelings to him. She told him she was about to enter the marriage hall and become someone else's bride. She also told him that although they had never met, she always missed him and hoped he rested in peace in heaven.

Just as Chen Shuishui was offering sacrifices, she suddenly felt dizzy, her vision went black and she lost consciousness.
