Chapter 051
Chapter 051
Wan Guchuan frowned.
After the monk finished saying "unlucky", he continued to walk forward with a cold face, like a gust of wind.
Peach blossoms are still in full bloom on the road ahead.
"Why did he scold me?" Lin Hong didn't understand.
The little novice said: "Benefactor Lin, don't mind, Senior Brother Yin Guang speaks like that."
"Curse people when you open your mouth??"
Little novice: "..."
"I don't understand either... Senior brother has not received precepts, so he doesn't get along well with others, and his behavior is a bit weird. Everyone doesn't understand him." The little novice rubbed his bald head.
"I haven't taken precepts, why?" Lin Hong was puzzled.
How could he not be precepted?
"The precepts are the foundation of the supreme Bodhi, and you should have the pure precepts." (Note 1)
Precepts give rise to samadhi, samadhi gives rise to wisdom, and wisdom breaks away afflictions, thus attaining Bodhi.
Buddhism believes that all living beings are in a world of suffering. Before they are liberated, their minds are prone to floating dust, and they are greedy for the five desires and six dusts in the world.
Precepts are the beginning of the three learnings (Note 2). Practitioners who do not follow the precepts will never attain Bodhi and will not enter the Arhatship.
Therefore, taking precepts and keeping precepts is extremely important in Buddhist practice, and the Buddha advocated taking precepts as a teacher.
How could he not be precepted?
The little novice said: "I don't know very well. After being ordained, he will live as a monk for five months, and then he will be ordained as a novice.
It is said that when he was a practitioner, he had a serious illness and almost died, and when he woke up, he was haunted by unclean things.
In the ordination hall, the ordination cigarettes fell, and the Buddha wept blood. The abbot said that he could not bear the precepts.
Brother Yin Guang was unmoved, everyone said that he had no heart for Buddha.Harmful. "
Wan Guchuan listened silently beside him.
Lin Hong asked: "What unclean thing? Why do you say that?"
"I don't know." The little novice rubbed his neck, "Because he behaved strangely, so everyone said that, that is—"
The little novice said mysteriously, "He wants to steal the flower garland offered to the Buddha to eat."
? ? ?Lin Hong: "Eat??"
eat flowers? ?
The little novice nodded.
Lin Hong: "That's indeed... quite strange..."
"Those who steal the garlands of Buddha statues will become garland-eating ghosts after death. Hey, what should Brother Yinguang do? The abbot said he would not change."
"Did you see him eating the garland with your own eyes?" Lin Hong couldn't believe it.
"Yes. A senior brother saw him squatting on the tribute table in front of the Buddha statue and eating flower garlands.
Moreover, after he stayed alone in the Buddhist hall, he came out without taking anything, so the big garland was gone, and there were petals all over the floor. "
The little novice said, "Monks don't tell lies, and my senior brother won't lie."
Lin Hong was amazed.
The three of them walked through the corridor and walked into the peach garden. The trees were full of flourishing trees, like light clouds wrapping around the trees, and the falling flowers were scattered all over the place. The whole area was holy. They were walking in the pure land of Buddhism.
They stopped talking about the monk who ate flowers, and Lin Hong started teasing the little novice again, "You said that you will become a novice after receiving the ordinance. How long have you been ordained?"
"Hee hee, this is my second year as a novice monk. In two years, I will be able to receive the monk's ordinance and officially become a monk!" The little novice monk was very happy.
"You recited the Buddha's name at such a young age, can you read all the characters in the Buddhist scriptures?" Lin Hong laughed at him.
The little novice was dissatisfied, "Why can't I recognize it all! I can still recite it!"
"According to Prajna Paramita, there is no hindrance to the mind—"
"No worries, no fear—"
"Stay away from reversing dreams, and finally Nirvana—" (Note 3)
There is no impurity in the childish voice, and it resounds leisurely in the pure peach garden.
Every peach tree hangs its head and holds its breath to listen quietly, and the soul memory connects the past and present, but the cause and effect of the past life is resolved.
The six realms of reincarnation, next time, go to the good realm.
There is no sea of suffering in the world, and everyone in the world is in the Buddha's kingdom.
The little novice led them past the pagoda.
The ninth floor of the Buddha Pagoda, due to the age, the white walls are covered with moss and creepers, and the walls are peeling off.The gray tiles are also a gloomy color, and the bells on the corners of the eaves sway gently in the wind, and the sound is ethereal.Melancholic and light, but without conflict.
"Inside, the Buddha bone relics are enshrined. When you see the Buddha bone relics, you will see the Buddha." The little novice pointed to the pagoda and introduced, "The pagoda can keep evil spirits away."
As soon as the relics are released, all the Buddhas from the ten directions come to see them, and all evil spirits flee away when they hear the sound.
"Tsk, can the Buddha drive away ghosts?" Lin Hong didn't understand.
"Exorcise ghosts? No, the Buddha is kind. After enlightenment, he escapes from the six realms of reincarnation and jumps out of the three realms. He also wants to save all living beings and resolve grievances. Ghosts are also sentient beings. Of course, the Buddha also wants to let all beings in the ghost realm escape from suffering and obtain happiness, so that they can escape from the ghost realm as soon as possible. , wouldn’t expelling them violate the Buddha’s original intention?”
"Don't believe me?" Wan Guchuan raised an eyebrow at Lin Hong.He said it all yesterday.
Lin Hong patted him, "It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that I don't understand why the Buddha kept ghosts away if he didn't drive them away. The difference between passive and active?"
The little novice nodded, "But it's not to keep all ghosts away. Ghosts are also divided into good and evil. It's just to keep evil ghosts away."
"As long as you devote yourself to practice, focus on goodness, and attain Bodhi, evil spirits will be afraid of you, and all evil will detour and stay away from you. At that time, if you want to save them, you will have to chase them."
Lin Hong: "I just want to run with them on my back..."
Wan Guchuan: "."
After shopping, the three of them went to the dining hall for dinner.
It's all vegetarian, Lin Hong expressed his sadness.
After eating, the little novice said goodbye to them, and the two returned to the house.
"Tell me, which grudge is looking for us?" Lin Hong asked Wan Guchuan.
"I don't know."
"The monk who scolded me is also quite abnormal." Lin Hong said with a strong personal touch.
"Speeding Ghost is also abnormal." Wan Guchuan also had a strong personal touch.
"Hmm..." Lin Hong thought of the poor hungry ghost last night, and compared the difficulty level - the speeding ghost is too fierce, and the monk doesn't know where it is, "Why don't we go and see the hungry ghost tonight?" Thin-necked ghost?"
"Yes." Wan Guchuan agreed.
At night, the two went out.
"It looks so creepy, I'm quite afraid of it," Lin Hong recalled the appearance of a hungry ghost, "Shall we bring something to eat?"
"I bring the sword and you bring food?" Wan Guchuan raised his eyebrows.
Lin Hong glanced at him, "Forget it, I'll just take Wan Guchuan with me."
Wan Guchuan: "..."
The ancient temple is more silent than in the daytime, hanging down in the night, meditating in silence.
The bright moonlight shrouded it.
Insect singing is hiding in the distance.
Lin Hong led the way, and the two wandered around the place where the ghost haunted yesterday, but there was nothing.
"Won't it come today?" Lin Hong was half glad and half regretful that he would not see that creepy ghost, and regretful that he might miss the clue to go back.
The two were about to return when a shrill voice sounded, "I'm so hungry—so hungry—I'm so thirsty and hungry—"
The two looked at each other.
"Here we come." Lin Hong sighed.
They followed the sound to find it.
"So hungry—I'm so hungry—so thirsty—"
As they approached, the sound became louder, and the more they could feel the ghost's pain and despair.
"So hungry—so hungry, so hungry—"
The sound is ahead.
Suddenly, the voice stopped abruptly, and the surroundings became silent for an instant.
what happened?
Lin Hong just wanted to take a step forward to see what happened, but the person behind grabbed him by the waist and hid aside.
Wan Guchuan grabbed him and hid behind the pillars of the veranda, and this position happened to avoid things that blocked his view.
Lin Hong saw, under the moonlight, a skinny hungry ghost with a throat as thin as a needle and a belly as big as a bucket lying on the ground.
There was a monk squatting beside it, his white cassock glowed faintly in the dark—it was the monk Yinguang he saw in the daytime!
And he was feeding that ghost with blood from his wrist!
Lin Hong could see clearly by the moonlight.
There was a cut in Yinguang's wrist, and blood was dripping down. The hungry ghost was lying on the ground, head sideways, sticking out his tongue to lick the dripping blood, his eyelids shrank, and his eyeballs were wide open. It's all about greed.
Yin Guang tied the Buddha's seal in his other hand, and muttered with righteous thoughts.
grass!Lin Hong almost cried out.
Is this ghost raised by this monk?
Associating with evil?
No wonder, no wonder, no wonder the Buddha statue wept when he took the precepts, no wonder the Buddha did not accept this disciple.
Yin Guang didn't know how he noticed them, and suddenly looked over.
His brows and eyes were still very cold, and there was no wave in his eyes. He looked at them and said, "Unlucky."
? ? ?Lin Hong couldn't take it anymore: "Why are you swearing again? I haven't said you are unlucky yet."
Yin Guang was silent for a while, and said: "I said you have bad luck."
Lin Hong: "..." That doesn't look very auspicious...
"The bad luck is too strong, the evil spirits like it the most." Yin Guang said.
Wan Guchuan pressed the hilt of the sword on the back of his waist with his hand.
Lin Hong watched him feed the ghosts, and then heard him say this, no matter what he thought, he seemed to have malicious intentions, "So you want to send the ghosts you feed to eat us?"
Yin Guang was startled, and pointed to the hungry ghost lying on the ground drinking blood, "Can you see him?"
"We are not blind." Lin Hong said.
Yin Guang lowered his eyes to look at the ghost on the ground, and his appearance seemed a little compassionate, "This is the 'needle-mouth ghost', one of the 36 ghosts recorded in "The Sutra of Zhengfa Meditation Hungry Ghosts", who hired people to kill After death, he will suffer this evil retribution and be tormented by hunger, thirst, cold and heat, and mosquito bites."
Lin Hong asked, "Why did you feed him?" Did you feed hungry ghosts with ill intentions?
"Don't you think he is very pitiful?" Yin Guang wrapped his wrist with a handkerchief, stood up, his figure was a little unstable due to blood loss.
The ghost just finished drinking the blood, with a satisfied face, and coiled at Yin Guang's feet.
Lin Hong really felt that it was very pitiful, but if it was hired to kill before death, it would be considered karma if it did so after death.
Yin Guang looked at them with his hands around the beads, "Are you the same as me?"
Wan Guchuan asked him, "How?"
Yin Guang counted the beads one by one in his hand, and his cold voice resounded in the night, "Just like me, I can see ghosts and go to the world of resentful ghosts."
The two were startled.
Lin Hong asked, "You also came in from the outside?"
No, if they came in from the outside like them, how could they have an identity? How could he be called senior brother by the little monk?
Yin Guang suddenly fell silent, and it took him a long time to speak, "You mean you are in the world of resentful ghosts now?"
Wan Guchuan frowned, "Is this your real life?"
Yin Guang nodded.
Lin Hong understood that Yin Guang, like them, could be taken to different worlds by the ghost to fulfill the last wish of the ghost.
And now he is a deceased former man, born in the world of resentful ghosts and thinking that he is not dead, thinking that this is still his present world.
Death does not know death.
Talk about dreams in dreams.
Yin Guang looked at the hungry ghost on the ground, fell silent again, and then calmly accepted the reality, "Then when did you live?"
"After 600 years." Lin Hong replied.
Yin Guang lowered his eyes, "Before I was alive, I went to the world of complaining about ghosts; after death, I was in the world of complaining about ghosts."
The author has something to say:
The explanation on Buddha in Chapter 50 has been slightly revised, and it is hereby stated:
People, gods, and ghosts in the six realms of reincarnation are all in the three realms. The Buddha escaped from the six realms of reincarnation and jumped out of the three realms. He is neither a man nor a god.
But the Buddha Gautama Siddhartha was a man not a god before his enlightenment.
There are different sayings in Buddhism, and there will be a set of sayings that are closer to life in the future, all of which come from Buddhism.
It’s all just a simple talk, so let’s talk about it for everyone’s enjoyment, okay~
Note 1: "Avatamsaka Sutra"
Note 2: Three studies: the three basic parts of the Buddha's teachings - morality (precepts), concentration of the mind (samadhi), and purification of the mind (wisdom)
Note 3: "Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra"
