Chapter 183: Reward
Chapter 183: Reward
They spent almost an hour just resting in their bed, talking more about their pasts and various other things.
Ye Jun liked these moments of peace a lot, especially since he was meeting them after so long. Not to mention, he and Song Liangxue hadn’t spent much time together until now.
It was also needed for all three of them to recover a bit, though most of the work had already been done by their two days of sleep.
It was then that Ye Jun thought of something. He was quite good at cooking and had also picked up some Attributes at the Spirit Food Hall, so he wanted to cook for his lovers.
But they had other plans.
Both of them pushed him back onto the bed and said he should just relax, saying that he had worked hard during his Ascension and now deserved rewards. And they were going to cook delicious food for him.
Who would decline such an offer?
Certainly not him.
So, Song Liangxue and Meihui left the room to find the kitchen. As the best abode in the sect, it also had a kitchen where even Spirit Chefs could cook, let alone two normal cooks.
’Whatever! It gives me enough time to check my achievements!’ Ye Jun thought, rubbing his hands together in excitement.
Purple Tribulation was legendary and he had to endure so much to achieve it. And it had given him many rewards, something he was very excited to see.
’Where should I start first?’
He could check his status directly, but he wanted to explore things one by one. After thinking for a few seconds, he decided to check his Physique first, which had been rebuilt so many times during the Tribulation.
’It still feels like my body though,’ Ye Jun thought, sitting in a lotus position. ’I hope it didn’t mess up my insides.’
He focused inside himself to check his Physique and quickly noticed the changes. They were very obvious, after all.
’My meridians have actually widened?’ he almost exclaimed. ’Holy hell! No wonder I needed regeneration on a molecular level!’
Expanding meridians was a tough task, as even a minor mistake could shatter them completely and leave one crippled. Without them, one could not use Qi properly, or if they had a low cultivation base, they would have to start from zero again.
The Tier 5 Meridian Reforging Pill, which Song Liangxue had given him on their first meeting, did something similar by rebuilding the meridians and expanding them. But it needed to destroy the meridians first.
Worst of all was the fact that there was a high chance that once one’s meridians were destroyed, they would never be restored, even with pills like the Meridian Reforging Pill.
’Woah!’
Ye Jun had to take deep breaths to calm his excitement. Expanded meridians were such a massive improvement that they practically increased his battle prowess by an entire margin. Not only could he outlast most cultivators of his realm, but he could also perform higher-ranked Mysterious Techniques without straining his meridians.
As if that wasn’t enough, they also helped him in Body Cultivation.
And the expansion wasn’t small either.
’They are probably five times larger than my previous ones, which were already pretty big. Damn!’
This alone almost made him dance in happiness, but he suppressed the urge as he wanted to check the other changes.
Taking a deep breath, he checked his Dantian where his Qi reserves resided. Previously, there had been nine spinning Qi Vortexes there, constantly sucking in atmospheric Qi and refining it for him.
’Holy hell!’
Instead, there sat a dense ball of liquid Qi, spinning on its own axis and absorbing Qi at a rate he didn’t even think was possible. His Qi reserves had also increased dozens of times over.
’Liquid Qi....’
It was the symbol of entering the Soul Tempering Realm. The usual gaseous Qi had condensed so much that it had turned liquid, which meant he could store even more Qi and its density would be far greater too.
And he had a lot more than he was expecting. The sheer density of his Qi showed the quality of his Ascension.
Ye Jun grinned widely. ’This alone is enough to defeat multiple Peak-Stage Qi Condensation Realm cultivators. I was a fool to actually think about challenging Soul Tempering Realm cultivators back then.’
Granted, he was an anomaly and an average Soul Tempering Realm cultivator would be far below his level, but the leap in power was still immense. He didn’t think he could have handled it.
’Fortunately, I transferred the Nexus, so everything is alright.’
His entire brain had been destroyed during the Tribulation and if it had happened before, then he would have stopped being Ye Jun or Weaver, or anything really, even if he somehow restored the brain afterward, as it contained all the memories and everything that made him who he was.
But he had already put all of that together and shifted it to the Spiritual Realm, which meant it didn’t matter what happened to his physical body as long as his Soul remained in good shape.
Of course, he also understood its limits. It wasn’t as though Soul Tempering Realm cultivators were free from the Physical World. If they lost their physical body, they would lose their anchor to the Physical World, which meant they would be all alone in a metaphysical realm that was constantly trying to assimilate everything.
’I will lose because my Soul is weak. Then what about those with strong Souls?’
Ye Jun wondered, guessing that those with stronger Souls could technically resist the assimilation better and survive longer in the Spiritual Realm, which also meant they had another chance to live even if their physical body was disintegrated into nothing.
They could find another individual, take over their Soul and possess them, essentially being reborn.
Ye Jun blinked in surprise, realizing he had stumbled upon something important. ’That means cultivators of higher realms don’t actually die if we kill their bodies. We will need to extinguish their Souls, otherwise they can simply be reborn.’
He took a deep breath. ’No wonder people call them Immortals.’
He wondered if he had transmigrated in the same way. Except his Soul had been weak, so perhaps the task had been done by his generous system. He did remember encountering it in the Spiritual Realm.
’And I still couldn’t identify it properly. What are you?’
Ye Jun was very grateful to the system, but he also felt weird knowing that something unknown was basically connected to his Soul. He just hoped it didn’t have bad intentions toward him, otherwise there was little he could do against it.
He sighed in exasperation, thinking, ’Whatever. I should check other things instead of thinking about things I can’t solve.’
He got out of the bed and exited Meihui’s room. After passing through a smooth white stone corridor, he found the kitchen, so he peeked inside and saw two beauties engaged in intense competition.
’I am a lucky bastard!’
For a moment, he forgot to breathe. They looked so beautiful and alluring even while cooking. Normally, they wouldn’t sweat, but they were cooking Spiritual Beasts, so the fire also wasn’t normal. And even that sweaty, exhausted appearance felt attractive to him.
"Are you planning to ogle at us the entire time, dear?"
Song Liangxue’s voice shook him awake. He cleared his throat and replied, "Not my fault I’m in a relationship with literal fairy immortal goddesses. Of course, I’ll take advantage of that and bless my eyes."
Song Liangxue rolled her eyes at his exaggeration but a small smile continued to play on her lips as she cooked even more enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, Meihui came over and shoved a giant carrot into his mouth and said, crossing her arms, "Get out!"
Without any hesitation, Ye Jun devoured the whole carrot and threw aside the last piece, thinking, ’That was better than I thought. Wait. I’m getting distracted.’
He turned toward Song Liangxue and asked, "Is there any place where I can practice? Something durable enough to handle my strength."
"There is," Song Liangxue nodded without looking back. "I’ve also had someone reinforce it so you can go wild. Just go down the corridor and turn left, you’ll find a hall there."
"Noice!" Ye Jun smiled and gave a quick peck on Meihui’s cheek, taking her by surprise, and then ran off, shouting, "I’m looking forward to it!"
"Sneaky dummy!" Meihui pouted, caressing her cheek.
"Don’t act like you didn’t like it," Song Liangxue said. "You could have easily dodged it."
"I never said anything about not liking it," Meihui snorted lightly and went back to her cooking with a big smile.
Meanwhile, Ye Jun followed Song Liangxue’s instructions and soon found a thick metal gate. When he tried to move it, he was surprised by its weight. Even Body Strengthening Realm cultivators would find it hard to move.
But he was different. He easily pushed it aside and entered the Training Hall, the metal door closing behind him.
What greeted him wasn’t just a normal hall, but a giant field that was bigger than even Falcon Fields.
"What the fuck? Where even am I? This is not the White Gale Pavilion I know."
